FAQ’S

  • Don’t panic! I know organising outfits for a whole family can feel overwhelming but I’m here to help you every step of the way. I’m very specific in my styling guides which you will receive once you have booked with me. I go in to detail about what to avoid and what to aim for to get the most out of your outfits.

  • That’s ok! Kids will be kids and they’re hard to predict sometimes. My family photography in York sessions are always child-led, meaning that I focus on playful prompts and will never ‘tell’ your children what to do. Bringing their favourite snacks always helps and If your little one is having a particularly bad day we can always look at re-scheduling if you feel like you’ll get more out of them another time. There’s no pressure over here.

  • You will get sent some previews 24-48 hours after your session and the remaining gallery can take up to 3 weeks after your session. If anything changes I will be in touch.

  • We’re in the UK so we can never predict the weather! We only have to hope we get the weather we want on the day. I will only re-schedule a session due to the weather if there is heavy rain. Otherwise we can embrace a bit of wind!

  • It’s never too early! I say that because there is quite a lot of planning that goes in to every session and I want you to get the most out of it and not miss out on a date you have in mind. I only take a small number of bookings per month. For time sensitive sessions such as maternity or newborn I recommend you get in contact to book in straight after your 12 week scan to get the date you want.

  • No! Almost everyone I have captured has said to me before we start that they feel awkward and nervous. I promise you that’s normal to begin with. It’s not everyday you have a camera in your face. However, you have to think if you’re willing to let your worries get in the way of capturing you and your family. Your kids will never care about what you looked like in the photos but they will care if you’re not in them. I always bring music with me on a session to relax people and you soon forget I’m there. Let’s chat before you book about your concerns and I can put you at ease. There’s never any pressure!
